When working with clients, there is usually much more to be achieved than a certain number on the scale or even physical transformation. The mental transformation is the key to being successful long term, and as coaches need to take into consideration; especially with clients who have already worked very hard to overcome an eating disorder. When you learn to love your body everything else will fall into place, and eventually you will see the scale drop and your physique change!
“Working with Amanda through Jason Phillips Fitness truly changed my life. Before starting my relationship with Amanda, I had tried several nutrition programs including working with several nutrition coaches in an attempt to dial in my macros. I have an eating disorder history and I felt like every program or set of macros I tried made things worse. I would end up following the plan for a few weeks, but then felt so overwhelmed and hungry that I would eat everything in sight only to feel bad and get back on my plan a couple weeks later. This left my body feeling sluggish and looking bloated, and I had given up on ever having a healthy relationship with food or finding a plan that left me feeling normal and in control of my body.
That changed with Amanda. She was the first coach who actually listened to what I was saying and how my body was feeling and after some tweaks we found a set of macros that made me feel amazing. My meal plan now seems like a sustainable part of my life instead of a thing I am having to force every minute of the day. My weight has gone down, my body has leaned out, and my workouts are feeling easier, but I am more grateful for the unexpected mental and emotional shift that happened for me through this process. I am no longer afraid around food, I do not have uncontrollable cravings, and I have an appreciation and respect for my body that I never thought possible.
Amanda was there for me throughout the whole process. There were times where I was struggling but I always felt comfortable being completely honest with where I was at, and Amanda never judged me for what happened, but continually encouraged me to keep pushing forward to take care of myself and my body. She really stressed to me the importance of health instead of trying to get as lean as possible and I always felt like she had my best interests at heart and that she genuinely cared about me as a person and was invested in my success.
This program was hands down the best decision I have ever made.”
